Pumpkin Carving Made Easy

The carving of the pumpkin is one of the favorite pastimes of many families. Once the pumpkin is carved, it is then referred to as a jack o’lantern. Viewing jack o’lanterns on Halloween can be a fun event due to there being so many different carving ideas.

It is a good thing to familiarize yourself with how to carve a pumpkin before you begin. Before beginning the carving, familiarize yourself with a few steps to increase safety. You can hopefully avoid any injury and keep things clean by following the steps.

In order to avoid orange mess on your furniture, lay down some newspaper or plastic before beginning.

Cut the top of the pumpkin so you can lift it off like a lid. Remove all of the insides after you cut the top, before you begin carving. This is also a good time to decide which side of the pumpkin you wish to be the front. Baking the seeds is very tasty. Rinse them and set them aside.

If you are planning to place a candle in the jack o’lantern, take a moment to make a flat spot inside on the bottom. Many people today use a battery powered light instead of a flame for safety reasons.

On the interenet you can find lots of free patterns you may use on your pumpkin. If you are creative, just draw right on the pumpkin or on a piece of paper first and then trace that onto the pumpkins face. Try using a pencil or a washable marker if you do not want the lines to show later.

It is best to use a paring knife or a knife from a pumpkin carving kit so that you maintain control of the blade and don’t cut yourself.

Remember that pumpkins spoil much mroe quickly after they are carved so don’t carve them too early. In fact, after all this you decide you want to keep your pumpkin whole so that it will last many months, you can paint it instead! Click Here and I will show you what you need to do to have your pumpkin looking professional in no time!

Who else wants easy Halloween pumpkin carving templates?

It’s been a few years now that ACreativeDesktop.com joined the Halloween pumpkin carving template game and so far there are over 150 different templates, stencils, and patterns that you can choose from. All templates are 100% free to download, print, and use to carve your pumpkin. Even better is the fact that every single one of these patterns are in the public domain which means you can republish and share any of these templates with others.

All the templates and patterns in the ACD Halloween pumpkin carving template collection have at least one thing in common, their difficulty level which is very easy. After noticing the amount of advanced pumpkin carving templates that were available online versus the amount of easy templates I decided to create and find simple patterns that I could carve with ease.

This year I have noticed a ton of brand new super advanced carving templates. Sure they might look spectacular on paper, but carving an advanced design into a pumpkin is much harder than it looks. I found this out soon after attempting to carve a Haunted House design into a pumpkin one Halloween. Start out with easy templates and once you know you can carve an easy design, then move up to a more challenging pattern.

Easy pumpkin carving templates

It all started with these first two pages of easy pumpkin carving templates. The first page contains 20 simple pumpkin carving templates, patterns, and stencils. Some templates include bat patterns, cat patterns, and even a dog pattern. If these 20 templates are not enough and you want more to choose from, scroll down to the bottom of the page where you will see a link for page two of the easy pumpkin carving templates.

On the second page of easy pumpkin carving templates there are an additional 18 templates to choose from. Some of the more popular templates featured on this page is the Star Wars Storm Trooper template and the GhostBusters template. Check out the skeleton skull pattern and the biohazard symbol as those are very popular designs as well.

Funny faces pumpkin carving templates

The bulk of the ACD Halloween pumpkin carving templates are on this page. Choose from 60 of the easiest pumpkin carving stencils on the Internet. Majority of the templates are the simple funny face templates where you have to carve a set of eyes, a nose, and a mouth. Templates on this page will have you carving simple shapes like circles and squares to complete the designs.

If you are looking for funny face pumpkin carving patterns for the little ones to use you should definitely check out the templates on this page. When it comes to easy templates that are free, it doesn’t get any better than this. If you do find an easier set of carving templates on the Internet please let the world know by leaving a comment in the comment section below.

Happy Halloween pumpkin carving templates

This page contains carving templates for carving the words “Happy Halloween” into your pumpkin. There are a total of six different Happy Halloween pumpkin carving templates to choose from. Carving words into a pumpkin is much more time consuming than one would think and requires an experienced pumpkin carver if you want the design to be legible when complete.

These Happy Halloween templates are perfect for Halloween parties. One year I threw a small Halloween party for a few of my family members and close friends and I used these templates to carve the pumpkins that I place on my front porch under the door bell.

Cat pumpkin carving templates

I was not surprised when I found out the number of people wanting to carve a cat into their pumpkin on Halloween. What I was surprised about was the number of free cat templates that were available online. Just a handful of cat templates were available for free online so I decided to change that.

This page contains 18 cat and kitten pumpkin carving templates that you can use for carving pumpkins or any other project you are working on. These stencils are some of the easiest cat patterns on the Internet. Feel free to use all 18 of these cat templates, just remember to share with others.

Ghost pumpkin Carving templates

Looking for some simple ghost templates for pumpkin carving? If so, have a look at this page for five really easy ghost patterns. This page is a new addition to the ACD Halloween pumpkin carving template collection and just like all the other templates, stencils, and patterns in the ACD collection, these designs are easy and free for you to use for all your pumpkin carving needs.

Take a peek at the ghost patterns on this page and you will see that some of them look very similar to the classic PAC-MAN ghosts of the 80′s. A few of these ghost stencils are so simple that they would make great templates for younger, less experienced Halloween pumpkin carvers. If you are like me and rather have the easiest ghost patterns to use on Halloween versus some of the more intricate templates that are found online.

Skull and crossbones pumpkin carving templates

The skull and crossbones pumpkin carving template page is also a new addition to the ACD Halloween pumpkin carving template collection. This page contains a total of five different skull and crossbones patterns. Use one of them or all of them if you like.

The skull & crossbones templates and stencils you see on this page will measure between 6X6 inches and 7X7 inches when printed and will fit on a 8 1/2″ x 11″ sheet of paper when printed. This size allows you to use these templates on almost any size pumpkin.

Carving pumpkins on Halloween is enjoyable for people of any age making it a great family activity. Begin searching for a template at the ACD Halloween pumpkin carving template collection or check out this Squidoo page for pumpkin carving patterns. Have a happy Halloween and be safe!

Children and Teens Looking for Easy Halloween Costume Ideas on a Budget

Easy Halloween Costume Ideas for Children and Teens

Every year, people buy hundreds of dollars worth of costumes and accessories to make a big splash when the spookiest night of the year rolls around. I’m referring to Halloween, of course. But why pay all that money especially if you’re on a budget? If you want to hold back some of your hard-earned money, then read on because this article will help you do just that. Little ones can benefit from these easy to make Halloween costume concepts and you will not have to take out a loan to do it.

When I say “easy” I’m talking about conveniently available supplies that are quick and with very little cost. Great costumes can be created with things you just might currently have available at your household. In fact, these ideas for costumes can likely be offered by your kids.

For the younger age bracket, you may likely require two costumes, which may come as a surprise to most of you. But the reality of it is that some kids love dressing up as one persona for their school Halloween party and a wholly different one when it comes time to going through the neighborhood Halloween night to obtain their candy. Another reason why is that it may be a school’s dress code that prevents the child from being dressed in what they truly want to wear. All the more motive to locate something that is inexpensive yet something that the kid will delight in. After all, part of the pleasure of Halloween costumes is the surprise, right?

To start with, look inside your child‘s closet. If your child is like most other individuals, then you should have no challenge finding a wide assortment of play garments. Items that may be found include princess dresses, tiaras, cowboy hats, lassos, themed pajamas, and the list goes on and on. Dress-up bins and closets are basically treasure chests of ideas.

Perhaps you have a young girl who has taken a liking to be a queen. What girl doesn’t? The chances are good that you’ve known about this for some time and have previously purchased a princess outfit or a tiara. This will provide you with the fundamentals of the costume. From there you can apply an appropriate amount of makeup, which will most certainly make her feel special. For fashion accessories consider a wand, clip on earrings, perhaps even some shoes that you wouldn’t mind spraying with glitter paint. The great thing about this costume is that if you do not have much to put one together, you can quickly find what you need at your dollar discount retailer.

For the girl who is a teen, a queen will not likely be her costume of choice. They’re more interested in characters they see in movies (think Twilight), or who they read about or see on TV. Rock stars are always a good standby. In these cases, they are more likely to go through your closet than their’s. Getting some old T-shirts and ripping off the sleeves will help with the rock star look. Have a pair of old jeans you don’t mind cutting or shredding up a little? Not only is a wig fun, but it also offers the most considerable way to modify the teen’s look which is what they are going for, naturally.

Sometimes traditional costumes, like the <a href =”http://www.missmuffetcostume.com”>Miss Muffet costume</a>, are the ones that get the most attention at Halloween parties, not to mention that they can be the most recognizable characters to dress up as. All it takes are a few carefully considered choices. You can find out more about the <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);” href=”http://www.missmuffetcostume.com”>Miss Muffet costume</a> at Mark’s site.
