Kids Costumes – Halloween Costume Ideas For The Whole Family
It’s that time of year again when kids Halloween costumes will need to either be made or bought. Neither option needs to cost lots of money, you could utilise items already in your house or buy items to compliment the outfit.
If you have girls you might be able to alter one of their dressing up outfits into a scary costume. Fairy dresses can be turned into witches dresses quite easily, use make up to make a witch’s face and black out teeth.
You could use an old sheet to make a ghostly costume. Make a hole in the centre for the child‘s head, ensuring you have cut the sheet down to size so the child does not trip.
You could turn the sheet outfit into something for bigger kids to wear by buying teeth for Dracula, broomsticks for witches, plastic bats and eye patches for dressing the costume up. These additional bits don’t cost much money.
If you do not want to make an outfit or do not have time then they can be bought relatively cheaply from plenty of shops. Sometimes these can sell out quite quickly so once you start seeing them about grab it whilst you can.
For a boys outfit they love to dress up as vampires, ghosts and monsters. Again these can be made quite simply at home by getting an old pair of their trousers and cutting them off into a jagged hem, and using a dark t shirt. You could either buy a cape or make one out of an old dark sheet.
Children love to have their faces painted and you could be as creative as you like. Encourage them to try different things out. Older children could make their make up much more sophisticated and grown up in the style of their favorite actors.

Family Halloween Craft Ideas
Ghost and goblins, witches and wizards — when these things are named you know what time it is. Halloween is just around the corner, you do not have to let it be boring this year. Your whole family will love these spooky craft ideas and enjoy making them together.
An all around family favorite is carving jack-o-lanterns. Everyone gets to pick their own design and be creative. There are also stencils that can be used to make your jack-o-lantern into a specific shape or object. Using pumpkin carving tools can be very precise with your cuts and saws. While cleaning out the insides of the pumpkins you can always separate the seeds from the goo and keep the seeds. After the pumpkin carving is finished and you have rounded up all your seeds, put them on a baking sheet with a little salt and oil and roast them in the oven. This makes delicious homemade pumpkin seeds.
If you or your children do not like the mess of pumpkins don’t worry. You don’t have to have the mess to make beautiful pumpkins. Just gather up some scissors, orange construction paper and a marker. Cut your pumpkin shape out of the construction paper and color on a face. This has simple clean-up and still just as creative and unique as carving a real pumpkin.
Everyone knows ghosts are known to scare. Spice up your decorations around your house with this very scary ghost creation. Draw a scary face on a paper place. On the back glue on a white plastic bag as if it is their body. Cut strips in plastic bag and hang with a pipe cleaner. This too if wanted can be drawn and decorated on anyway you choose. Also, you could make some puffy candy corns. All you need for this is black construction paper, scissors, pencil/pen, white craft glue, and white, yellow, and orange tissue paper. To make this you draw a triangle on the black construction paper. After that is done cut you different colored tissue paper in little strands. Next, divide your triangle in 3 different parts. The bottom section should be finished with the yellow tissue paper, the middle with the orange, and finally the top with the white tissue paper. Cut out your triangle and you have a perfect candy corn.
There are many crafts that can be done around Halloween time; it is very simple to come up with your own. Use your imagination and use what you have around the house. Everything does not always have to cost money to be fun. With simple items your whole night can be a blast. So the next time Halloween is right around the corner and you have no decorations or anything for your children to do to cure their boredom, help them do some of these fun craft projects.

Cheap Halloween Costumes – Family Fun For The Halloween Season
{thumbnail}
Halloween is a time for celebration. It is at that point in the year where the nights are drawing in and it is becoming colder. This festival marks the coming of winter. It can be expensive to dress up, so why not make some cheap Halloween costumes.
The classic costume is of course the ghost. What better use could there be for that old white sheet. It is quick and easy to make and does not need any special sewing skills. All you need is the sheet, a pair of scissors, a marker pen and some safety pins.
In addition it would help if the child was wearing white clothes underneath and had white gloves and shoes. You just need to drape the sheet over the child‘s head and mark out a hem. It should not drape on the ground in case the child falls over it, but should easily clear the ground.
Then mark where their arms come to so that it can be cut so that they can move their arms easily. Very carefully mark where their eyes are. Take off the sheet and cut where you have marked. You should allow quite large eye holes so that they are not in any danger of not being able to see, and a bit of black make up around the eyes would add nicely to the effect.
You may want to use some safety pins to hold it all together. Once they are dressed in white and have their sheet in place then they will look like a very traditional ghost. This will have cost pennies to make.
There are lots of great costumes that can easily be made with a very small amount of effort. Start off with an easy one, then let your imagination run riot. Your kids will soon be the scariest on the block. Cheap Halloween costumes can be fun for the whole family to make.
